Position Overview

As the Video Editor, you will help drive the acceleration and production of world-class video content, working closely with the Senior Director of Content and Video Production Managers. Video content creation is moving at a rapid pace within Brightcove and we are excited to incorporate innovative ideas into our marketing portfolio to help elevate our brand

Job Responsibilities

Edit video, from raw footage through final delivery, to support the creation of promotional videos, product demos, events and customer success stories

Craft strong visual stories with minimal oversight

Independently create original, well-executed videos, using available assets and finding creative solutions when footage is limited (i.e., motion graphics, animating text overlays)

Make creative judgment calls to ensure video appropriately reflects brand standards and helps elevate overall visual quality of videos

Expediently create trailers and interview clips from video-on-demand

Help proactively identify opportunities to repurpose existing video content and new ways to integrate video across channels, particularly social media

Ensure timely and effective distribution and syndication of video content across Brightcove properties and social channels

Collaborate with and support Video Production Managers as needed on pre-and post-production logistics, particularly for virtual productions

Support the maintenance of orderly file management and archiving procedures

Occasionally collaborate with the creative team on concepting and storyboarding high-profile video projects

Support live streaming virtual event logistics as needed

Qualifications/Experience

3-5 years of experience in professional video editing with a strong understanding of editing workflows

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, and Animate) and motion graphics

Understanding of codecs, frame rates, bitrates, file formats and streaming workflows

Strong design sense and good gut-instinct for visual storytelling

Comfort with a highly iterative creative process, and willingness to try new things quickly

Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and come up with creative solutions when last-minute changes and edits arise

Highly organized with exceptional follow-through and time management skills

Working knowledge of social platforms and best practices (i.e., vertical aspect ratio)

Post-production experience preferred (i.e., audio mixing, color correction, etc.)
